Children need reading books in school every day. Reading books should be brought in school book bags and will be stored in classroom trays.
Children must bring a named water bottle daily so they can keep hydrated.
The children’s P.E. kit should consist of a white/blue T-shirt, black/navy shorts and school pumps. Children may also wear track suit bottoms in colder weather.
Teachers will plan outdoor education activities throughout the year and will notify parents if and when additional appropriate clothing is required.
What we do
Every day the children take part in fun and exciting activities to promote their development and learning. We undertake daily Phonics, English and Maths lessons. We also underpin our learning with computing through using iPads and laptops in class. We promote physical activity through formal and informal P.E. lessons.
Our weekly timetable can be found at the bottom of this page.

During the Spring term, we will discover all about the Great Fire of London and learning from events of the past,as well as properties of different materials.

Throughout this topic, we will be investigating similarities between our home town Crewe and Japan during the build up to the Olympics. We will consider the importance for humans of exercise, eating the right amounts of different types of food and hygiene.
Homework and Spellings:
In Year 2 we will send a homework grid home with the children every term. These activities are optional, but Dojo points will be given out to those children that complete all activities.
Weekly spellings will also be sent out, but will not be formally tested. These spellings will be set on spelling shed each week for your child to practise at home. Word aware grids and knowledge organisers linking to learning in English and Topic will also be sent home – please discuss new vocabulary and concepts with your child.
Times table rock stars is also available for your child to practise their times tables at home.
